Aina is the current Station Administrator of Gretchen Park responsible for the logistics and day to day operations of the station. In 2424, Aina was granted asylum status in the Federation, the first Kit to do so.

Aina was born to the low Q'gan household in H'zknīt city, the capitol of the Kit Commune. Failing to make considerable enrodes in the cutthroat city politics, the Q'gan family moved to the outer districts where impoverished Kit live.

Despite financial disadvantages, food and housing insecurities, and limited access to formal education, Aina was an avid bibliophile, consuming books almost as quickly as her family could find them.

With the support of her family, Aina was able to apprentice herself as a clerk, then administrative assistant, and finally a household manager for Matron Dai'zi.

While working in the Dai'zi household, Aina befriended B'ri Dai'zi who had recently been married into the house. Late in B'ri's pregnancy, Aina, B'ri, and their chauffeur were involved in an aero accident which killed the pilot and caused B'ri to go into labor.

Aina helped deliver the kit, however one tog would be born completely Arctic. B'ri named him Raq'n shortly before succumbing to her wounds. Out of the litter, only Raq'n survived. Aina took the child and fled, hiding his existence. She began dying his fur black to hide his true pelage.

Aina is a Zl’aslan, a type of Kit which lacks the biological imperative to be in proximity to other Kit every hour, a fact she has kept secret for much of her life.

Following first contact with the Federation, Aina learned that Federation society consistent of mostly solitary species who worked together despite their differences. She smuggled herself and Raq'n to a Federation Starbase where she presented herself to the Starfleet staff as a refugee and requested asylum.

At the local magistrate hearing, Aina presented detailed evidence of the reeducation facilities a Zl’aslan like herself would be subjected to, and that she would lose Raq'n who she had raised from a kit. Based on her testimony, she and her Raq'n were offered temporary residency status. The pair then traveled to Earth where they initially settled in Vancouver, Earth.
